Varna is the third largest city in Bulgaria and it is located in Northeast Bulgaria. It is also the tenth-largest city on the Balkans.
Varna is a great tourist destination, a starting point for all the resorts in the northern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast.
The city has a thousand year old history.

Varna Cathedral

An imposing landmark at the city center is the 19th century Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin. The Cathedral is one of Varna symbols.
Prince Alexander Battenberg placed the first stone in the foundations of the construction on 22 August 1880.
You can notice the modern Byzantine architecture and woodcarver iconostasis by masters belonging to the school of Debur.
The Cathedral is open every day without entrance fee but there is a 5 lv. fee if you want to take photos.

Festival and Congress Center

The Festival and Congress Center is located in the city center of Varna, near to the Sea Garden. It is build for congresses, festivals, conferences, concerts, scientific and business forums, cinema and theater performances, shows, exhibitions, symposia. There are a lot of activities every day.



The Dolphinarium was found in August 1984. It is one of the symbols of Varna. The Dolphinarium is located in the northern part of the Sea Garden in Varna and the tourist can enjoy a unique performance of the dolphins. The Dolphinarium in Varna is the only dolphinarium on the Balkan Peninsula.

The Palace of Culture and Sports was founded 1968. There are three sports halls for more than 30 sports disciplines. The complex is also sometimes used for concerts, live performances, trade exhibitions and fashion shows.
There is also a Trade Centre with shopping area, bars and a parking lot.
Yearly in the Palace of Culture and Sports are held the fair of “The Three Keys – Home, Office, Villa”, “Tourism and Leisure Time”, “Made in Bulgaria”.

The Roman Baths

The Roman Baths are located in the South-East part of Varna. The building have been built in second half of the 2ndcentury on an area of about 7000 square meters and was used until the 3rd century AD.
In the time when the baths was built Varna was known as Odessos. Varna Roman Baths now lie in a semi-ruined state and visitors can see their various rooms, from the cold water bathing and hot water bathing rooms to the sports hall.
